Winter Wonderland Vacation

We are home from a great time in Michigan, visiting family and seeing the snow! We had such a wonderful time! We stayed with my sister and brother-in-law, where we had the best hospitality and fellowship. My children, being born in southern Florida and now living in Georgia, had never played in snow or even seen the ground covered in snow. Well, Michigan cooperated and gave us a phenomenal winter experience. The snow was deep and it was bitterly cold. Often the temperature was below zero. My children had so much fun playing in the snow and sledding. I couldn't get the video to work so please go check out Julia's blog and see the great pictures and videos. A special time for me was showing my children where I grew up and taking them to see Lake Michigan and the lighthouse at Grand Haven. I have lots of fond memories of this area and it was nice to visit here. This is a picture of the pier. It was so cold we couldn't walk down any closer to the water's edge.

We also visited with family that we haven't seen in many years. My children met some of their cousins for the first time and enjoyed playing in the snow and hanging out with them. We had the chance to see my parents and the home my dad is building. So good to see them again.

Maybe we will make this an annual event!

It sounds like you all had fun! It is good to know that SOMEONE likes all of the snow we get up here. :) Hope you stayed warm!

Thanks for the comments!

Michelle, we were in Grand Rapids. We also went to Grand Haven area to show the kids where I grew up. Where do you live?

Yes, we stayed warm! We borrowed snow pants and my sister has a wood burning furnace so we were toasty! The snow was fun but I don't think I'd want to live there! :-)

Hi there Gloria! Well, I finally left Julia a comment after having her page open for days! I just wanted to take time to write something more than, "Hey! Glad to meet ya'!" lol I haven't even been to my THL page to read the comments.

What a fun time for you all. I am so glad you all had a great time! Our long trip last summer was a lot of time and work and money, but I would do it all over again! What a blessing to spend time with family and new friends!

I can't tell you how glad I am that you all stopped. Too bad we didn't have more time. One bad thing about meeting bloggers is that most live so far away!! I would love to pop on over and see your chickens or send Eric over to help your dh and the boys build the new coops!
But, the up-side is how fun it is to meet like-minded people from all over IRL! So, a very BIG thank you! Thank you for driving out of your way to meet us. We appreciated it.

If you ever get this way again, you know you are all more than welcome. If we get down Atlanta way - or AL or LA, we will definitely have to take you up on your offer!

blessings, Jacque
